The East Meadow Close Charity has existed in the village for over two hundred years. In recent years it combined with two smaller village charities, The Educational Foundation and Relief in Need. The charity has assets of about £18000 and an annual income of about £600. The charitable objectives are:
To promote social and physical education of young persons under 25
The relief of poor persons by gifts in kind or grants of money
To the vicar for purchase of religious books or pamphlets
